A new service being offered by York and Scarborough Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust

Dear Patient
The following message has been sent on behalf of
York and Scarborough Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust
York and Scarborough Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is pleased to offer you the opportunity to sign up to our new online service that gives you secure access to your health record from any smartphone, tablet or computer. It’s designed to improve your patient experience and access to NHS services and information. It’s a bit like online banking, but instead, you can use it to manage your health.
Starting from next week you will receive an email invitation with details about how to register.
Digital services help us to provide an alternative method of communication and support for our patients i.e, by using secure messaging, online consultations and care planning.
During the Coronavirus pandemic, it became increasingly necessary to offer these options as alternatives to face-to-face appointments. To ensure we can continue to protect our patients and healthcare staff in future, we would encourage you to register for this service if you have internet access.
As a patient of the Trust you will be able to initially:
-view some hospital letters
-monitor your health condition and track your symptoms
-share your record with anyone caring for you such as family members, carers and health professionals.
And in the near future:
-view appointments online
-see your test results, details of any allergies and current or previous medications
-access care plans and other resources to help manage your care safely at home
-communicate with us online using secure messaging.
The service is provided in partnership with Patients Know Best (PKB).
If you have already registered for PKB with a different organisation, you don’t need to register again. You will simply receive a notification to inform you that you have been added to a new team in PKB.
If you do not wish to use the system, you can ignore this email and the invitation when it arrives, and you will continue to receive your hospital correspondence in the usual way.
