    Special Interests: I have special interests in women's health including coil and implant fitting, diabetes and mental health, but also love being a generalist and looking after all problems. I am passionate about adopting a 'Lifestyle Medicine' approach, and the importance of proactively taking care of our physical and mental health through diet, exercise and proper relaxation. I am particularly passionate about preventing symptoms and illness through supporting lifestyle change and host an ‘Action for Happiness’ group in York

    Bio: I grew up in York and trained at St Mary's Hospital London, qualifying in 1994. I had short spells in Brighton and Australia before returning permanently to lovely York, where I live with my husband and three children. I have been a partner at the practice since 2001. I love being a family doctor and being able to offer continuity of care wherever possible. I love yoga, running, and cycling and spending time with my family and friends.

    Working Days: Monday to Thursday. Mainly at 32 Clifton but teaching medical students at Monkgate on a Tuesday, and a clinic at Water Lane some Wednesdays.
    Special Interests: Urgent Care provision, Child health, teen, adult and older people’s Mental Health, but am interested in all aspects of family medicine.
    Bio: I have been a GP for 17 years, and became a Partner in a London practice in 2006. I moved to York with my husband and 3 sons in 2013 and have spent the last nearly 5 years as a Partner at York Medical Group where apart from seeing patients I have an active role in developing our day to day Operations and patient access to our services.

    Working Days: I see patients on Wednesdays and Fridays mainly at The Surgery, 32 Clifton. The rest of the time I spend on practice development.

    Special interests: Minor surgery and skin lesions; osteoporosis and bone protection; men's health and prostate conditions; mental health, counselling and psychotherapy.

    Bio: I am married to Rebecca Field, also a YMG partner, and we have 3 children. We live in York and love the community here. I manage my son's football team. I qualified in 1990 and graduated as a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England (FRCS) in 1994 before training in General Practice. I have worked as a cosmetic surgeon. I trained in psychotherapy and enjoy supporting patients with mental health issues. I am the Business and Strategy lead partner for York Medical Group and split my time between seeing patients and working hard to develop the practice. I'm also the Chairperson of the City and Vale GP Alliance and represent the practice to other stakeholders. I am passionate about the NHS and the whole NHS family. I intend if fortunate enough to work in the NHS until at least 2026.

    Bio: Dr Bolter Qualified from the Royal Free Medical School London in 1985. She then went and worked in Sudan from 1992 -1996. She has been at Monkgate since 1998 and is a partner GP.

    Special Interests: Women's health, contraception and sexual health. I fit/remove contraceptive coils and contraceptive implants.
     
    Bio: I qualified at Leeds in 2008 and joined York Medical Group in 2017. I have sought to broaden my medical knowledge by living and working as a GP in Western Australia, Perth. I take an active role in the medical student teaching programme for both 1st & 2nd-year students attending the practice.

    Working Days: Usual Working days at Tower Court, Monday morning Tuesday all day Thursday all day Friday morning and usually consult at Skelton Surgery on Friday afternoon

    Special Interests: Ear Nose and Throat problems, Women’s Health and Contraception, Paediatrics and Medical education

    Bio: I was born and raised in the West Midlands then qualified from University of Leicester Medical School in 1994. I set out to train as an ENT surgeon and worked in surgical training posts in Leicester Sheffield and Liverpool before moving to York in 1999. I realised along the way that I preferred talking to people to operating on them and made a career change in to General Practice in 2003.

    I did further training in paediatric then obstetrics and gynaecology and then spent time in GP practices in Escrick and Heworth.

    On a Tuesday I often have 3rd year students from the Hull York Medical school working with me.

    I live in York with my partner who is a GP in a neighbouring practice. We have two primary school aged children. When I’m not working I enjoy running, photography and baking. We enjoy cycling and walking as a family. I love a good book too.

Welcome to the new look York Medical Group Website. We hope to have made a more user-friendly and easier to navigate website. As it is a new website we are constantly updating and hoping to improve the page so some features may not always as work intended but we will aim to quickly get these issues resolved.
